We at mobikwik have managed to do that no one has done yet. We have created an open web based API which can be used to recharge or top-up your prepaid mobile from your mobile or PC browser.
While big network management companies ( Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson) have created electronic recharge mechanisms and comprehensive API’s for recharge, they are not available for the general public and are quite complicated to setup. Telecom carriers typically give these API’s out to a few distributors only which then fan out to resellers.
Mobikwik team has taken the juice out of these API’s and condensed it into
1) 3 http based calls.
2) 2 MS word pages of documentation.
3) less than 1 hour setup time.
This API currently supports only 300+ million prepaid mobiles all across India for all mobile carriers. 🙂
Most importantly, anyone, just about anyone, is eligible to use this http API to create :
a) a recharge widget for your website or blog to draw footfalls and create contests. Provided you meet minimum traffic requirements, you can convert your blog or website into a killer money making machine!
b) a gadget or app for any mobile device.
c) a gadget or app for facebook,twitter,iGoogle,orkut,myspace and any other social network.

Naman, if you can get minimum traffic using this API, our automatic margin management system will regularly update the commission in your mobikwik account as mobikwik balance.
For example, if you sold inventory worth Rs 10,000 and your commission is Rs 200, it will be added to your mobikwik balance. This will happen on a regular basis so you can directly redeem this from your customers.

Sir i want to inform u that my order num is A04300270410 an transaction id 693599 date 27-04-2010 in after noon 13:25pm when i recharge RS250 my mobile number 9772849620 is a company of vodaphone i do all the process and then the process is failed an then there is a option of try again and i tried again an its again failed an then i see my balance in mobile an there is no ballance of this transaction and then i see my ballance of my bank account of sbi debit card i see there is a transaction of RS250+RS250=500 is debit from my account. so i request u to refund my amount of RS500 in my sbi bank account. my register id in recharge it now is nishant_rekha@yahoo.co.in , I also filed a complaint at http://www.consumercourt.in/online-shopping/6438-recharge-now.html and even after this not get any response, I shall be highly obliged.
