MobiKwikathon 2.0 – 24 hours of non-stop brainstorming, productivity and fun!

A year ago, MobiKwikathon was launched to challenge talented innovators to ‘think out of the box’ and raise the bar on unconventional ideas and develop newer solutions that add value to business.  The idea was also to motivate employees and encourage their participation in such innovative tasks. This year, we came back for the second season of MobiKwikathon, called MobiKwikathon 2.0.

The 24- hour hackathon, aimed to further encourage innovation within the company. There were 3 key themes for this year-UPI (United Payments Interface), Big data and Productivity. MobiKwikathon 2.0 received an overwhelming response from the entire team, with participation from over 100 employees. A total of 35 teams of 3 members each participated in the hackathon that witnessed a 24-hour marathon of brainstorming. The teams were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges, which included Mr. Aloke Bajpai, Co-Founder and CEO, ixigo.com and Ms. Riddhi Mittal, Co-Founder, Finomena.

Out of 35 teams that participated, 3 were declared winners. The winner was Team ‘Churn Slayers’ who with their divergent thinking came up with a ‘User Churn Prediction Model’ which uses machine learning and big data. The idea behind this model was to get an estimation on user retention and acquisition based on Big Data. The second winners were Team ‘VAN’ who demonstrated an idea on expense management based on Big Data. The third winner was Team ‘3 Musketeers’ who based their idea on a mix of Productivity and Big Data that aimed at showcasing the nearby merchants on MobiKwik app to the users with just a tap. The winning teams together won a cash prize of INR 3 lakhs.

The 24-hour Hackathon was a mix of learning, brainstorming and team bonding. We at MobiKwik believe in our employees and always try to give them platform to showcase their skills and talent. MobiKwikathon is one such platform! It challenged participants to create solutions and pathway to any live problems that the business could be encountering.

We constantly strive to engage our employees and motivate them to realize their true potential. MobiKwikathon was one such attempt which was a great success. Here are a few snapshots from the weekend
