We at mobikwik.com had briefly stopped the usage of paypal as a payment option on mobikwik.com for online recharge of Indian mobile operators. This was done to beef up some of the changes that happened as a result of paypal changing its policies in India. Also, paypal does not treat Indian merchants too kindly in terms of digital goods, so we had to reinforce in terms of security measures.
As of now, paypal mobile recharge is working at mobikwik.com with option to pay upto Rs 300. However, if you have never paid via Paypal on mobikwik.com, we will hold your first paypal transaction until we can verify your details. While we did not want to do this in terms of user experience, some of the trolls lingering around on wap forums were hell bent on mis-informing users how to get free recharge using paypal on mobikwik.com. Hence, we are forced to flag first time paypal transactions. Once cleared, however, the mobile recharge via paypal will happen instanteneously.
The exchange rate and paypal fees remain the same, so no change there. A Rs 100 recharge will cost 3.20 USD and so on.

I get this error on PayPal while trying to pay you:
We notice that you are attempting to pay an Indian resident user. The payment you initiated has been blocked. PayPal only facilitates international payments and cannot be used for domestic payments within India. We suggest you find alternative methods to complete the payment. If you believe that the person you attempted to pay is not based in India, please contact PayPal customer support.

Vishal is right, you need to have a credit card attached to your paypal account to make payment to any merchant through paypal account.

Ohk. Is it possible for Mobikwik to integrate a Plimus, 2checkout or fastspring so we can pay by PayPal? That would be a great help!

Bipin,
When was the last time the exchange rates were updated to reflect the FX rates in effect in the world?Â
Surely you realize that it Rs.100 doesnt convert to $3 USD anymore. I have raised this point over multiple emails to your team with the assurance that exchange rates will be revised. However, I see no action being taken.
Extremely disappointing.
