One of the leading grass-roots development organizations, Dhosa Chandaneswar Bratyajana Samity (DCBS), has been offering loans, training in skill development, and marketing assistance to farmers and small business owners for their sustainable livelihood in rural Bengal and a portion of Bihar since 2003 for the underprivileged families with an emphasis on women. In addition, DCBS is trying to promote FPOs and OFPOs as well as renewable energy, water and sanitation, and the sector of ready-to-wear manufacturing. More than 100,000 women have been helped by DCBS since its establishment, with worth cumulative credit of INR 200 crore.
The West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 authorizes its registration, which took place in 2003.
Furthermore, DCBS is registered with the FCRA, NGO Darpan - NITI AAYOG, GST, and sections 12AA and 80G of the Income Tax Act.
